Unit 2: 11 October 2024: Artwork: Serenity

I’ve been working on this artwork for some time already but am only now getting round to making a video about it to document the progress.

During the making of this piece, I would commence each making session with a short meditation whilst holding a particular moonstone.

I am honing my methodology of practice-based research using a combination of channeling with stardust, making with stardust, making about stardust and meditative journeying.

Commencing a piece of work by using a piece of stardust (in this case moonstone has Sodium, Potassium, Aluminium, Silicate plus various trace elements: V, Co, Ni, Zn, Ga, Ba and Pb.), I am using the stardust as an anchor to that piece. Using a channelling technique discussed in other videos in this Learning Log, I hope to be able to capture some of the energy from that stone into the painting.
